About this talk
“Poetry is the music of the soul, and, above all, of great and feeling souls.” ― Voltaire Poetry is the soul of music! This workshop will focus on prolific black women who used poetry as an inspiration for their music and lyrics. We will unpack poetry and music from artists such as Jill Scott, Tank and the Bangas, and Lauryn Hill. By the end of the workshop, all participants will create an original poem and will be given the opportunity to share!
